What is Self Storage?

We rent secure storage rooms for business and personal use. You have control over what is stored in your unit. You own the lock and keep the key. As a renter, your rights are protected through a rental agreement.

Who rents self storage?

Our business clients include lawyers, accountants, and doctors storing office documents; retail businesses storing merchandise, furniture and telecommunication equipment; and contractors storing construction equipment and building materials.

Our individual users include homeowners preparing to sell their homes, or begin remodeling projects; automobile or motorcycle owners storing their vehicles over the winter months; students going home for the summer, travelers storing household items while overseas, and apartment dwellers or homeowners needing extra space for seasonal items.

How to Rent from Us?

First, give us a call. We'll provide you with current unit availability and prices. If you decide to rent from us, we'll ask you to review and sign our rental agreement. For your convenience, we can meet with you at our office, the storage facility, or if time allows, mail the agreement to you. Your first month's rent and security deposit are required when the rental agreement is signed. We'll work hard to meet your storage needs and schedule.

What size storage units do you have?

We rent a wide variety of sizes. Our smallest units are great for storing boxes and clothing. Our largest units can hold the furnishings of a four bedroom house or an automobile. Please see our table of unit sizes.

How much does storage costs?

The monthly rental rates for our storage units depend on the location you select and the unit size. Climate controlled units are about 50% more than our non-climate controlled units. Please contact us for a price quote on a storage unit that will fit your specific needs.

Are my items insured?

As with most self storage facilities, we do not provide insurance for the items in your storage unit. However, your homeowners or renters insurance may cover self storage. Please check your insurance policy, or call your insurance agent.

Are the storage units dry?

Yes. We've taken special precautions to keep your items dry. Each facility is designed to move rain and surface water away from the storage units. At our outdoor facilities, West Towne and Verona Road, the storage unit floors are specifically engineered to prevent water from entering under the storage unit doors.

Are the storage units heated?

We have climate controlled storage at our West Washington Self Storage facility. These units range in size from 5' x 5' to 10'x 14'. Consider renting a climate-controlled space for the following items: leather furniture, musical equipment, pianos, crystal/glassware, books, electronic, equipment/devices, computers, fine linens and clothing, mattresses, business files/records, oil paintings, pharmaceutical products and cleaning supplies. Also, it is much nicer to access a heated storage space in the dead of winter!

How long can I stay - or do I have to stay?

As long as you wish. The minimum rental period is one month. Our rental agreements based on a month to month tenacy. We require only a 10-day termination notice prior to the end of the month.

Do I provide my own lock?

Our lock requirements depend on the storage location you select.

At our downtown location, West Washington Self Storage, renters provide their own padlock or can purchase a lock at the facility. We feel that padlocks provide an adequate level of security at this facility because we control the access into the building at all times.

At our west side locations, Verona Road and West Towne Self Storage, renters are required to purchase a cylinder lock from us at low cost. We feel that our cylinder lock and latch system is better than the typical padlock/latch system for drive-up storage facilities. The trend throughout the self storage industry is towards cylinder locks as a deterrent against theft.

When can I access my storage unit?

At Verona Road and West Towne Self Storage, you have access to your storage unit 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. At West Washington Self Storage, you have access to you storage unit Monday through Saturday by appointment, or Wednesdays (1:30 pm to 4:30 pm), or Saturdays (12:00 pm to 4:00 pm).
